The spotlight felt hotter than my old heating pad collection.
There I was on Deborah Drummond's Mission Accepted podcast, sitting alongside three incredible women who serve others just like we do. The energy in that virtual room was electric as we dove deep into what it really means to take care of yourself while you're busy changing the world.
Deborah asked us the golden question that stopped everyone in their tracks. How do you keep growing your mission while staying true to yourself? The answers that poured out were pure magic. We talked about listening more than speaking, breathing through those overwhelming moments, and staying present instead of getting lost in mental loops.
But here's what really got my attention. Every single person on that panel had faced their own rock bottom moment. Anat left New York with just $2000 and a broken heart. Donna rebuilt her voice after a devastating car accident. Cathy trusted her gut and flew to the Maldives to help with their first democratic election.
Each of them discovered the same truth I learned during my 38 years with multiple sclerosis. Sometimes life hands you the Mack truck when you ignore the feather. Sometimes you need that wake up call to realize your thoughts aren't your truth and your diagnosis doesn't have to be your destiny.
The whole conversation reminded me why I created The Conversations podcast in the first place. These are the stories that need to be heard. The raw, real journeys of people who refused to let their circumstances define their limits.
Listen now to hear transformational stories and discover your own path beyond the head trash that's keeping you stuck. Check out her latest episode: Mission Accepted Podcast Episode #324: Breaking Through Limitations
